At FUN School (est. 1960) we feel each child is a unique individual, and we strive to encourage their independence and enhance their self-esteem while they are growing emotionally, socially, physically and cognitively.
The quality of the program offered is stimulating, challenging and builds on each child’s strengths while allowing the child to develop at his/her own pace, within a nurturing environment.
A variety of materials and equipment are used to allow the child to express himself/herself in a positive and creative manner.
Our warm and caring environment is safe and clean with a happy atmosphere where the children, teachers and parents feel comfortable with FUN school. One of our main goals is to make FUN School a positive and fun experience for each child.
FUN School operates 5 days per week for pre-school children (ages 2 through 6 years) during the public school year. In addition to the school year we also offer a summer camp during the month of July.
FUN School is very flexible in that it allows children to attend based on varying schedules each day. Drop-off and pick-up times as well as a.m. or p.m. sessions can vary for each child as desired. Full and half day programs are available.
We offer a stimulating enriched kindergarten program which satisfies the curriculum requirement of the Ontario Ministry of Education. FUN School also allows children attending public school kindergarten to also attend FUN School part-time. A lunch program is also available for those children who require it.
FUN School includes French ( JK & SK), music, dance (SK), arts and crafts, computers, outdoor play and field trips in its curriculum. An indoor gross motor room and an outdoor fenced play area complete with a play structure are available.
Once per month a representative from our local public library comes to read to stories to the children.
The school is a non-profit organization with a Supervisor who arranges the programs and schedules. The Supervisor reports to a parent-run Board of Directors, which provides assistance and guidance as needed. The Board of Directors is responsible for setting the administrative policies for the school, and is involved in handling the business operation of the school.
FUN School is licensed to operate by the Ministry of Children’s Services. The staff includes a Supervisor, Assistance Supervisor, plus the required number of qualified teachers and assistants. The school maintains a ratio of 1:5 for 2 year olds, 1:8 ratio for pre-school, 1:10 for J.K., and 1:12 for S.K.
