From Big City Girl to Mom in Mississauga

My husband and I have been living in Mississauga for 6 years. Having been born and raised in the “Big City” of Toronto have always had an aversion to the suburbs. I vowed that I would never live in the suburbs. Well, you know the saying “Never Say Never!”?

When we decided to purchase a home in Toronto we experienced a bidding war in the real estate market and thus decided that the suburbs weren’t so bad after all.

Once we decided to go west, (that is west of Toronto) we discovered this hidden treasure. A little pocket by the lake that reminded us of cottage country. The area had no sidewalks, huge lots, mature trees and a lake. Once we moved we had no regrets. How can I complain about spacious
living and free parking?

Life without kids

As new residents of Mississauga, we enjoyed exploring and discovering new places. We frequented many restaurants, pubs, bar and grills and enjoyed experiencing what Mississauga has to offer in live entertainment. This was when we had the freedom to do so “sans” kids.

Then I got pregnant and had my first child.  This exposed me to a whole new world and a new Mississauga.  A Mississauga that it great for Moms and families.

What’s it like being a Mom in Mississauga?
